Rafting or white water rafting is a challenging recreational activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on white water or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid-1970s.The Base of Coorg Whitewater Rafting lies on the banks of KKR river in PONYA Estate on GONICOPAL - BIRUNANI Road (see route map below) to reach after 31kms drive from Gonicopal. The Short trip is conducted in the mid section and will take two hours to cover a stretch over 2 km, with an hour spent on briefing and drill, and the run to last another hour. You will be running through many rapids and few of them are named (as you enter) The Morning Coffee, The Grasshopper, Ramba Samba, The Wicked Witch and finally The Big Bang


Kithu-Kakkatu River also known as upper barapoleOur rafting stretch lies on the upper section of the ferocious Barapole River of Coorg, famous for its turbulanse and gradient that flows through the dense forests of Brahmagiri Wild Life Sanctuary.

Instructions and Guidelines

  • Season - July to October.
  • You are advised to change in to T Shirts, Shorts or Trousers. with adequate foot wear like floaters during rafting.
  • Ladies are not allowed to wear sarees while rafting.
  • Children below 14 years and pregnant ladies are not allowed.
  • Consumption of alcohol or any other intoxicating products is strictly prohibited during this trip.
  • For safety purposes, do pay heed to the guidelines given by the instructors.
  • Moderate for safety reasons kindly let guide know your medical conditions to react easily incase of nessicity swimming knowledge as well as minimum group is not required.
